Has anyone earned the Qantas Points from trading with Superhero? Easy? Worth it?

I'm not into trading and therefore don't have a whole lot of knowledge about it all. I am interested in Qantas Points however, and I'm wondering if it is a easy way to secure some points.

Looking at the e-mail they sent me, it seems like I could pretty easily get the 10,000 points, but the next $20,000 seems to be out of my reach requiring an existing portfolio and minimum $20K.

Anyone have experience in doing this? Any tips or heads-ups about securing the 10K points?

You'll pay $5 per 1000 points for the first part of the offer - which is "OK" but nothing special at all and barely above redemption rates for gift cards. If you're then going to sell down the shares once you have the points its even less favourable

  • Definitely worth it if you can earn a few % in gains during the trade (instead of just in and out immediately). Took me a week in total and totalled $27 in brokerage instead of $50 because of some tiny wins. Credited in 2-3 days

  • Just a bit of a warning, got my points within 2-3 days, thought it would be the same case for my partner. Still no points after a week
