These are great units, you can add them to the SmartLife app with all your other smart apps to keep things under one roof too.

    • That’s great to know, so it should work with Tuya and then also Home Assistant. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure about HA i use SmartThings but it's likely to work if HA can control devices in Tuya/SmartLife.

  • I use a humidistat (IHC-200) to control a 370W dehumidifier in a damp storage area (or everything goes very mouldy, very fast in damp weather).

The IHC-200 has two outlet plug points. While both may be switched off depending on user set limits, both will not be on at the same time. One allows for a humidifier to raise humidity when it drops below a user-set level; the other allows for dehumidifier when humidity exceeds a user-set level. I only need the dehumidifier, which has to be plugged into the correct outlet.

The IHC-200 is dumb but is run via a smart switch that measures usage. The humidistat seems to draw 0.3-0.5 watts. Today humidity is low. KASA reveals 0.0Kwt; used since midnight 0.63kwt used in the past 7 day; 1.94kwh in the past 30 days. That tells me the fan is regularly right off and the device is more than repaying its purchase price by keeping the humifier's fan not running when humidity is below 60%.

I use these for fish aquariums, in-case of heater failure.
If your after a down to earth Aussie review, & "perhaps" better price - https://youtu.be/211a2qQLoiE
    (No, it's not me)

    • Good for aquariums. The beeping alarm for warning the temp is outside the set range is annoying however. Happens on occasion (maybe once a month) and seems to happen late at night… you cant turn the alarm off by the app, drives everyone mad until you locate the device and turn it off manually - usually half asleep.

      • Not had that issue, would be annoying, would earn a wake up bashing from the Mrs to sort it out.
I run 2 heaters (in-case one fails) in the sump (out of site), so maybe my temps are more balanced, or something faulty with yours.
        Some suggestions here - https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/i-want-to-throw-my-new-ink…

        • I actually run the same setup as yours. Thanks for sharing the article.

I'm not sure if its faulty or the heaters struggle on random cold nights. Its fine +99% of the time which is why ive persisted.

A simple clear alarm option after acknowledgememt in the app would be appreciated.

  • Comparison to the MK2 controller from Kegland, or RAPT?
