under the T&C's, you are giving them permission to send you SMS spam "indefintely"…

not sure it's worth it to receive 5mls of the product…

      Agreed!

    • -1

nah, you'll get a confirmation text in which it says "respond yes to be kept up to date".

      • +1

This is what you are consenting to…

"The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant."

        • cant you just use the "caller id" not send on your phone?

        • +2

          not for SMS…

  • Not really that concerned as I used a prepaid number that is going to expire in 4 days and used my PO Box address.

It's the same sort of standard T&Cs Nivea use for all their freebies (many of which have been posted on Ozbargain previously). I've never received any sort of spam from them on my phone or via the post. They may possibly just do this on a random basis, I don't know.

If you want to do well on Ozbargain you need an Ozbargain name, an Ozbargain address, an Ozbargain telephone number, an Ozbargain email address, and an Ozbargain mind

…and an Ozbargain girlfriend who will appreciate all the cheapass free stuff you get for her

      • Hold up, "cheapass free stuff"?

But it becomes a problem when she likes the sample then requests more. You've run out of samples so you end up having to buy the commercially available product at great expense.

  • This is where smsglobal comes in handy

Done and did not reply yes lol, also I used to have a prepaid phone where u could screen numbers wish u could do that with iPhones

  • Bah Pinger's international texting is down.

I cant stand SMS spam, - 'No Deal'

  • I hope they dont start sending those premium spam $5 sms weekly. Dont wanna risk it since its just 5 ml. If it was a full bottle, wud hv taken a risk

    • That would be a gross violation of their own T&Cs. I very much doubt Nivea would do that.

      • Search all the previous Nivea freebie posts that have been posted on ozbargain. I don't think anyone has complained that they have been spammed in anyway by Nivea.

  • I used smsglobal to send the text.
