Wireless Work Headset Recommendations

Hey guys,

I'm looking into wireless work headsets and have been considering the following and would love some opinions and insights if you have experience:

-Jabra Evolve2 75 UC USB C (apparently the usb c variant has fast wireless charging)
-Yealink BH76
- Poly, previously Plantronics is another brand but build quality doesn't look as solid. Could be wrong

Happy to also hear any other recommendations aswell as long as they have pretty much similar specs to the above.

Thank you all.

I'm still using the first version of this headset, bought in 2016.

Surprisingly really great for music too.

  • I'm in the same boat. I'm leaning towards the bh76 as the 75 has on-ear design rather than cup design.

Edit: both actually are on ear types.

    • I was so used to having my ears fit inside a cup style headset, but I tried the evolve2 75s last week and it actually molds into or sits into the cups as opposed to getting really hot from being on your ear for long periods of time

Interested in which ones you actually go for and why when you decide, both are similarly priced too when not at RRP

  • I just use my old Rig 800 gaming headset i had laying around. Looks badass on Zoom with all the corporate nerds and their single sided office sourced units.

    • Ah, mono headsets. I just can't haha.

  • I have the Yealink BH72 because the Jabra Evolve2 75 is wayyy too expensive. I’ve been using it since June this year, and I love the design of this thing. It’s small, have the mic that tucks in which makes it usable in non-work settings. I usually have it connected to my computer and iPad and it’s able to switch between the two sources if it detects sound so it’s handy.

Only gripe with this headset is that, with the included USB dongle, the audio is laggy… like if you watch a YouTube video, you’ll see the image move (like talking) and hear it like 0.3 seconds later. If I connect to the headset using my desktop’s built in Bluetooth this doesn’t happen.

    • Amazing. Thank you for commenting, finally someone actually with the Yealinks. So for work using Teams and music, it'll be fine?

Because in contrast, apparently the dongle on the j75s are supposed to make the audio quality better

How's the app experience, battery life and quality/build quality of the headset for you, as well as the boom mic quality?

      • Yea for work (Teams) and music it will be totally find. I use it for everything these days as it’s pretty comfy but bear in mind mines the on-ear one. I think you posted the over-ear one so the comfort of that might be different.

The software for Yealink isn’t the greatest. It’s functional but nothing fancy in the software, I think Jabra will have much better software given how much more mature they are in this.

Battery life is good, can’t tell you exactly how good but I can wear it all day for a couple of days with no issues.

Build quality is slightly just above average. I have a colleague who has the Evolve2 65 and I do feel that’s better built.

The mic, don’t have issues with it. Colleagues say it’s all good but again I work from home and it’s not noisy so I can’t say how well the noise cancellation is, but I do remember watching this YouTube clip from this channel ‘Call-One’ or something like that, they do ALOT of comparisons so worth checking that channel out.
Also, when you get a call and your boom mic is tucked in, you can pull it out to auto answer which is nice.

        • Appreciate the insight. I read somewhere that exactly, you can extend the mic and it'll take the call, what about if you retract it, will it mute the call?

          • @jnathanc: When you retract the mic, it’s on mute but I don’t actually do that… much easier to just click mute/unmute on the computer than to constantly push and pull the mic in and out.

            • @YeboMate: That's true. Does the headset have a dedicate mute button?

I would go the Jabra, I have the Evolve 65 and its great. Even Micro USB C is good for charging, charge it overnight and then no problem. I can use it for two full days without requiring a charge.

I was previously a big fan of Jabra and bought them for everybody in the office. I'll be testing Yealink now because the Jabra Evolve2 75 has a fault affecting all of the headsets globally. The Jabra support team have said they can't fix the fault straight away, don't have an ETA and won't provide a replacement because they know the replacements will have the same problem. Very poor support for a premium priced product with bad quality control. I don't understand why Jabra still sell the headset when they have acknowledged in writing that it has such a serious problem.

    • What is the fault? Do you have a video showing the issue?
