My son is really into Volleyball as well. I don't think there is much market for volleyball shoes in Australia. You can try looking at men's netball shoes. I think both netball and volleyball shoes have a lot in common, they are both indoor court shoes and have ankle support.
I have been told Asics Netburners or Asics sky elites are the best. Good luck.
mizuno and asics. I highly recommend Australian Volleyball Warehouse. Purchased plenty of volleyball gear from them. A lot of reps clubs and state teams purchase equipment through them as well
Why not just get basketball shoes? Plenty of them have good cushioning (like the Nike Lebron 20’s or KD15’s, or even the GT Cut 2)
Barefoot in the sand, is best.
Badminton shoes are good because ankle and lateral movement support, not as good for vertical work as basketball shoes but pretty decent market for them
Mizuno are my go to, historically been much lighter than the equivalent ASICS. Australian volleyball warehouse is where you should be shopping
Lamelo Ball or Michael Jordan if you're old school (jokes)
