Arrow Films Blu-Ray Sale - e.g. JSA - £9 (~A$16.87), Oldboy 4k - £15 (~A$28.13) + Delivery @ Arrow Films UK

110

Obviously Blu Rays have become a bit niche, but there are a lot of films published by Arrow that still aren't on any streaming platforms in Australia (plus Blu Rays will still generally have a better image quality anyway).

The equation at checkout when I did so was 1.875x cost e.g. £91 equated to $170

Some sale prices that stood out to me:
Ring - £9
Audition - £9
The Vengeance Trilogy (Park Chan-Wook): £25
True Romance - £10
The Killing/Killer's Kiss (Kubrick) - £9
The Human Condition Trilogy - £15

Oldboy is getting a blu ray release in December locally, but RRP is $40 here. The 4k from arrow (or even the entire Vengeance Trilogy set) represent comparitively good value.

Some items have sold out since yesterday such as Tale of Two Sisters, so if there's anything you've been keeping an eye on on eBay or Amazon, might be worth considering grabbing it.

Another note, I bought 8 items yesterday and shipping was £12 total so may be worth bundling some items with other physical media buffs to split shipping costs 🤷🏻‍♂️

The website can be a little finicky to search, so if you find something decent maybe leave a comment so people can find it easier

    Also forgot to mention!
DVDs from the UK will usually not work in Australia.

The UK shares the same Blu Ray region code as us, so they will work here (have several Arrow movies already and haven't encountered an issue).

And for those unaware, 4K discs are entirely region free, so they too will work on Australian 4k machines (that includes Xbox One S and One X as well as Series X and PS5 just in case people have one of these at home and didn't realise they are capable of this. You'd be surprised how often people don't even realise they have a blu ray player, yet have a modern console).

    • Wish I knew that last part when I was in the US in 2019. Some 4K discs were as low as $10USD :(

Yeah I only found out a few months back despite having a One S and small 4k collection for a few years now.

The only part that's annoying about overseas version is that some have the Region-free 4k disc, yet still come with a region-locked regular blu ray.

        Such a strange practice

I got burned hard buying a Blu-ray from American, region locked!

Was shocked that it's still a thing.

    • There are a fair amount of companies moving towards region-free regular blu rays. Still by no means the norm, but it helps when looking for some specific niche titles.

Well Go USA, for example, seem to make most of their stuff region-free.

I got a $50 Laser rerfurb Blu-ray player for the odd occasion that I get a region-locked Blu-ray. Not sure if they still sell them though.

They have them at Big W! At my local stores they seemed to get a massive restock about a month or two ago
