Hey guys, I'm upgrading my current PC to the latest 13th-gen 13700kf. Currently, the motherboard MSI PRO Z690-A has CPU red light on and is in an infinite boot loop. While waiting for the replacement motherboard to come, and I still have the motherboard with me, I'm thinking of what else could have gone wrong.
The BIOS was flashed to the latest version, and it should support 13th Gen CPU.
I've sold my old 12th gen CPU. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to test it with a working CPU on the Z690 motherboard(silly, I know it).
I've tested my RAM, PSU and Graphics card and can confirm they work on my 9th gen Intel platform.
Here are the things I've tried:
Remove RAM and test one by one
Reinstall CPU
Remove all power cables and plug in again.
Flash Bios again using USB and remove all components (PC booted up without any issue after the first flash and never booted on subsequent runs)
BIOS versions tried are7D25v18 and 7D25v192
I tried flashing it a few times but found the BIOS flash LED only blinked red once and never lit up again.
Reset CMOS by removing the battery and jumping.
None of these solutions works; it is still in the boot loop with CPU red light. The red light is not blinking, it just stayed on.
Would there be anything else I could try?
Result: Bent pins. Did a warranty claim and the new motherboard works perfectly.
