It works if you have a prepaid/postpaid Telstra service using Wifi calls when overseas.
It works if you are calling from phone service that's registered in Australia and you are roaming. This will however be very expensive and is not a free call like back home.
From a foreign phone service the number cannot be connected and you will need a non 1800 number.
Yes but are you are implying Wifi calling won't work? Because it will.
I wasn't implying that. Just that Wifi Calling is not a prerequisite, it's using an Australian phone provider that is the requirement.
FYI Telstra (and boost) are the only providers that don't bill wifi calling at roaming rates when overseas. Optus and Vodafone charge you roaming rates for calls even when on Wifi.
Telstra Wifi call works from overseas and Telstra sees you as an user in Australia + all included in your plan, so free no matter where you are in the world with an internet connection.
1800 generally only works within Australia.
They often have a "+61 X XXXX XXXX" number around somewhere if they're expecting overseas callers too.Used to work on Skype
