It has the horspower (about 5 hp) of a low-end push mower. The lowest power ride-ons have about 17hp. Don't expect miracles from this in long grass.

I don't think you can legally use these on your nature strip.

  • Baumer, sounds cherman ;)

Heads up, this company frequently changes it's name and are awful with returns.
Long story short, I took them to court and I won.

    • Care to elaborate?

I've only known them to sell low value power tools ($200 max) so was curious why it had to go all the way to court to resolve the dispute

for $1000 bucks more you can get a John Deere S100 with 42inch cutter and 6 year warranty on the powertrain,

Plus a $1000 every year for service and gas…

Generally speaking there's been a shortage on good mowers recently even some parts have been a PITA to get a hold off (particularly briggs & stratton), if something is immediately available in the current market (or they have need to discount it significantly) it probably isn't a 'good' mower.

tl;dr - this mower might appear cheap up front but will probably cost you more in the long run. Buy once, cry once.

You nailed it there. Hard to get a decent ride on and a self propelled slasher? Forget it. Wet season means that all the good units have been snapped up. Might have to rely on my scythe but it is a little rusty.

  • segway?

    • Yeah, because there is absolutely no way a petrol mower could catch on fire… not with all those dry grass clippings, highly flammable fuel and a hot exhaust in close proximity to each other.

    Avoid at all costs.
That type of mower is not even worth that if it was a quality brand.

  • For sure above negatives are a worry but, for what it's worth, I had a good experience with them. I bought a petrol mower after mine spat the dummy (wouldn't start) and the local mower shop wanted "maybe 150" "maybe 200" to fix it. After new mower arrives, gave old one a last pull for old times sake and of course it starts. Flawless ever since. Some online research later and I think if it stops again I could probably fix it myself. Anyway these Mytopia people accepted the return happily and without question and I was refunded promptly. My article was unopened though. Moral is watch out for overpriced small machine maintenance/repairs. Some basic lawnmower maintenance ain't that hard even for non-mechanical punters and can even be fun.

  • If anything like the other Baumr products which I'm sure it will be, don't waste your money.

They advertise as if they're stuff is commercial grade, trust me it's just Chinese import junk that you will regret buying and have nothing but a hard time getting any money back on.

  • Bought a baumr jackhammer, it spins but doesn't hammer. Funniest thing ever.

  • I have the Ryobi equivalent of these ride on mower and l highly recommend the Ryobi one, as they are not a lot more than these Baumr one. Mine works flawlessly and charge through home solar. Love the fact that l don't have to deal with broken belts and gas cans..

    • Can you please link to your Ryobi equivalent of these ride on mowers?
