Would v8 be better, if this is corded then suggest getting miele c3 instead as that is the best corded vacuum

    • more affordable option is the Blizzard CX1. Does everything you need it to

The V8 comes with a motorised head, whereas this one does not. So this vacuum relies more on suction.
I think for carpet or larger houses this would be better. For hard floors or smaller apartments the V8 would be better.

The space required to store a full sized vacuum is also an overlooked consideration.

      • Yep this is corded so see no reason why anyone would get this over the other 2, bagless would be the only reason to think about getting this.

      • My DC54 uses vacuum to “power” or “motorise” the carpet head with its 290AW suction power. I have the v10 as well, but I think v10 cleans visibly better than DC54.

    • V8 what? Dyson V8 Absolute cordless stick vacuum?

I would not pay $400 for a bagless vacuum. I've had Dyson and cheaper cyclone vacuums. Its such a mess to empty and filters need frequent cleaning to maintain suction.

I had this one: https://amzn.asia/d/is7UN5E the best one I've had and I would buy again if they sold them.

    • Ummm… no it doesnt

    • Dyson’s Cinetic vacuums have filters you don’t need to clean.

        • You are incorrect, that is not the same model. The post is for CINETIC Big Ball Multi… your post is the older model with a washable pre & post filter. Non cinetic models are not part of Dyson’s core big ball range, and haven’t been for over 4 years

      • Its an absolute mess and cloud of dust emptying the cyclon vacuums. Also hair gets stuck or tangled in the mesh filter and needs to be pulled out often.

My experience with Dysons is with a very old model DC19. I was able to sell it on a secondary market for very good price and I almost felt bad about it because I disliked it so much.
Later I have had cheaper cyclon vacuum cleaners in rentals and the experience was comparable to the Dyson.

Compared to the modern baged vacuums they are a mess.
Could be that this new model is much better but inherently you have to drop the dust into a bin and knock the container about to get all the dust out and it still produces a cloud of dust even if the filters are better now.

  • I have a v7 motorise head, can I use that head for this vacuum?

    • Unfortunately no, Dyson’s corded vacuums rely solely on airflow to drive their heads, whereas units like v7 use a motor inside the head and require power to the part. Because of this, it won’t work sadly
