The cheapest I've seen them.. I suspect the price has dropped a bit due to the new IP65 version coming out…

I've purchased a couple of other Victron items from this eBay store recently, all good, well packed and fast shipping…

FYI - the seller is actually springers.com.au. In all my dealings with them I've found them to be an excellent company with best prices and great service.

Hi FLICKIT, interesting - what use do you put these to?

    • +1

I have one on my camping battery. An app on my phone shows exactly how much charge is left.

They measure current (fairly accurately but not exactly). Useful for lithium batteries where voltage isn't useful as a guide for capacity.

Ah, with lithium batteries. That makes sense. 500A seemed excessive.

Am used to using basic shunts for current measurement. But no app, just a meter. Lived off grid with solar & wind in past.

In my case… I'm just upgrading the electrical system in the campervan, this will go on the new lithium battery to monitor the power in and out, keep track of the battery state of charge, power usage, charge rate from the solar & alternator, and such.. Victron have a nice app so it's easy to keep an eye on things via bluetooth… (I have Victron solar and mains chargers which can be monitored via bluetooth also, and the bluetooth BMS in the battery, so I could get away without this Smartshunt but it's a "nice to have" item)

When I built the campervan a few years back it was all done in a rush and on the cheap, lack of power has been an ongoing issue, (especially during Tassie winters when there's not much sun and I'm not driving much each day)… In the last 7 years I've lived in the van for around 500 nights so it's not too hard to justify throwing some money at it to get the electrical system up to scratch, the cost is a bit painful but it is what it is…

Thanks for that FLICKIT. Sounds great - you are getting set up.
Enjoy your travels with your nice new lithium battery!

Thanks, ordered one to put in my Lithium Battery Box that I use when I go camping.

    • Pic of your set up?

Edit: was thinking the same. Only have an AGM in my HardKorr battery box I use as a camping/touring battery. Nothing permanently fixed. No room under bonnet in my ranger

It's nothing fancy, just a cheap 100Ah LiFePO4 battery bought from eBay. I actually got a full refund for it because I did a full discharge/charge cycle when it arrived and it is in fact only 80Ah, according to the stats from my Victron 12V/10A charger. They didn't ask me to send it back, so I just kept it.

It sits in an AntPak battery box, which has a built in 800W inverter and can charge from 12V or solar input. Fits in the third row footwell in my Everest. Runs a 37L fridge/freezer for 3+ days without solar.

  • If you don't need Bluetooth function to monitor the battery stat on your phone, you can buy this with a monitor:

    • There are generic identical-part alternatives that come to about half that money from ali or similar.

Very good price and excellent product.

I don't know how they make money on this sale, but for consumers, it's great!
