Does anybody think the Nintendo Switch OLED will see a drop in prices from $489 you see at Amazon or David Jones in November (Don't want to wait till black friday) ? or should I get it at $489 right now?

If it's for xmas gift or birthday present, you shouldn't risk it. Scalpers will charge more if there's a shortage. Switch is going to be up there as most wanted gifts for kids with iPhones and AirPods, Nintendo will provide Australia as much as they can, but we're not the only rich country in the world.
Good chance of a discount on Black Friday so unlikely to do so before then.
If you use the spend and save code you can get it from this link for $448 delivered. Might be a eBay plus thing, not sure.

Combine with 10% off Coles Gift Mastercards - actually ~ 7.5% after fee - to soften the blow a little. I got my two for just shy of $400 each after discounts and 10% off prepaid credit cards - I didn't go the extra step of buying discounted gift cards with them, but could get it down a little more.
Try marketplace, may find excellent condition ones for $350 or under.
If you have eBay Plus you can get it for cheaper than $489 already, plenty of stock available
