On a lot of computer deals, users mention astronomical amounts of Chrome tabs open.
- Do you use any features to help manage tabs(search, pinning)?
- Do you use plugins to suspend tabs?
- Any general tips or tricks?
- For those with 50+, why?

300+ on my PC, 102 on my Mac…
When researching something I branch out a lot, then move onto the next thing without remembering to clean up all the tabs….
Usually I get there eventually…. :P Browser memory/cpu management has improved a lot of late so there's nowhere near the impact it used to have…
Browser memory
#chrome has entered the chat…..
I use Firefox :D
I even used it when it wasn't good… It's back to being good again now though, so I'm back on top whee!
Using Simple Tab Groups add-on to try manage all the tabs.
0 in my PC. When I’m using it only as many as I need for that task.
My phone… 18 in the main tab group, then there’s about another 10 tab groups with between 3-20 each. Too many. I use it how bookmarks should be used, which is wrong, but it works.
About 150 on my phone spread across 4 tab groups, the highest number in a single group is 90 at the moment.
Under 100 on phone poco x3 pro. Because I don't like bookmarks.
And roughly 30-60 iMac 2013 same reason as above
Currently have 4 open on my POCO X3 Pro, never had a reason to have more than 10. I don't really use the bookmarks tab, I just start typing in whatever website I want and autofill will do the rest.
I currently have 57 just closed off 20-30. I usually don't like going to 100 because the counter registers 00.
No crashes and doesn't slow down my phone, I also have 20 odd tabs open on another browser
Wow. I would generally have about 5 tabs open on my phone.
I fire up like 8 tabs at launch, but close them when I'm finished.
Probs over 200 on my laptop.
Edge > Chrome.
For those with 50+, why?
I just never close tabs on my phone. Just open new ones
1436 on my phone 🤭
Upload screenshot 🤔 I call BS 🤣
How do i do it? 😂
By using your brain and searching google 🤣
depends, sometimes multiple browser windows with lots of tabs (around 50 or more) on each (Jupyter notebooks, articles , publications etc)
I use Firefox, so there is no memory issue.
One for each comment…
30+
Even my work laptop has min 20 tabs open
300+ on pc
150+ on mac
400+ on chrome ios :\
I'll never have more than 5 open unless I'm researching something or some piece of code doesn't bloody work.
Then they all disappear and order is restored once more.
20 - 30 per window
3 - 6 windows
I've tried to cut down but it's really hard.
"For those with 50+, why?"
because I'll read them one day…….
.
About 40 for me.
I open a new tab when needed and kill the browser entirely once or twice a week and start from scratch.
