Suggestions for All Inclusive holiday that includes booze!

Looking for somewhere warm to go next winter Melbourne time that has booze included in their package.
It appears that All Inclusive can mean anything from a brekky voucher to the real 'you dont need money this week' type thing. I dont mind if we are staying in Aus or going overseas but It looks like about 6K for 2 people (without flights) is doable in Bali.
Any ideas?

  • Luxury escapes: filter Thailand, all inclusive
Or Cabo San Lucas or Cancun

    • Same, but leave the countries out of the filter

      • Why the phvck would you get all inclusive somewhere like Thailand. The food at the local places / street food is best part!

        • Why the phvck

Don’t you mean why the Phucket?

Also - all inclusives can end up being cheap enough that you’re still keen to do a lot of meals in the local areas.

I had considered the cruise idea but Im wary of the sickness. Not Covid , just the belly bugs. Good idea though.

      • Not a huge amount more risk than staying in a resort where people stay in the resort the majority of the time. But yeah I understand the trepidation.

I mostly agree but that does put me off cruises too. I think it’s the idea that if it happens you’re stuck on a boat at sea in your cabin whereas if you get gastro on land you can at least be on a non moving surface and go for walks etc. it’s a bit dependent on the standard of your accommodation either way, as to the comfort.

A colleague has been on two cruises this year including the coral princess. He said all staff are wearing masks so less risk of illness for passengers.

How much do you drink? You need to drink a lot more than the average person to break even on booze packages.

I shortened the lifespan of my liver by about 30 years in Vietnam and probably spent about $100 on booze in two weeks. It was so ridiculously cheap so long as you avoid imported stuff. The local stuff is unregulated rocket fuel though.

Note: Do NOT drink purple spirit out of a jerry can and then start drinking shots with the bar staff after hours when you have a 4 hour hike the next day.

    • We just did a week on the gold coast and Id guess we spent about $300 a day on food and drinks , with free breakfast at the hotel. Head to beach at lunchtime , couple of beers and some snacks , couple of cocktails , dinner with wine then back to hotel for a go on the pokies and a few beers then a cheeky nightcap before bed. Rinse and repeat in different orders and at different places and it adds up pretty quick. Our goal for this trip would be simply pool life , having a swim , having drinks and food on hand and never leaving the resort, not what everyone wants but also not what we generally do. Just a lazy carefree week.

  • Is it really that hard to pay for booze on top of the usual accom/food etc?

    • Some of the prices these days it could very well be.

  • Club med used to be pretty popular.

    • The alochol is pretty poor unless you pay extra.

  • I don't know much about 'all inclusives' but for cheap alcohol, I go to Langkawi. (Although it may not pay to be drunk in the street).

  • On a cruise, an all-drinks package will set you back around $150 per day, per person. That's after a discount (most cruises are converted from USD)

    7 days - $1050pp
    9 - $1350pp
    14 - $2100pp

Lots of websites around talking about the pros/cons of drinks packages vs PAYG. Just something to bear in mind if considering a cruise (and drinks not included in the price).

  • Benidorm? They look like they have fun on the TV show, in between all the drama anyway.

  • Something to read, https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/travel/best-all-inclusiv…. Don't go on holidays now as I live in Australia not England.:)
