Bissell Spot Clean Auto-Mate Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner $199.99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ Supercheap Auto

250

25% of Bissell SpotClean. Have been waiting for a while for a good deal. Wanted the SuperCheap Auto version due to the extra brushes and since COVID, this is probably the best price. You could get other versions with different attachments slightly cheaper but if you want this one, its a decent price. Quick search on OzB seems to suggest 147 was the lowest so definitely not the lowest but good price, regardless.

Can be had via their eBay store for slightly less: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222241775834

  • Is the turbo version worth the extra expense over this one?

I recently upgraded from the regular Spot Clean to the Turbo model. I would say yes. Looking back at it, I do not think the regular Spot Clean model is a good purchase at all.

Its fine for very small jobs. Quite literally, I spilled something and I need a wet vac to immediately clean up a relatively small mess. That is about it. The suction simply is not that good, and it takes a long time, with multiple very slow passes to completely suction out a more saturated wet area. If you are planning to clean an entire car or even a decent sized couch, I would probably not bother.

The turbo model is noticeably more powerful, I would say its okay for general upholstery cleaning, but its still not on the same level as a general wet vac. You could clean a small car in a reasonable period of time. But once again, its still going to take you a while to do larger areas, a large rug as an example. You really would need a proper sized wet vac for those sorts of jobs.

      • Hmm. Now I'm not sure what to do. What is the all time low on the turbo

        Edit: Oh $239 - I'll wait for that https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/bissell-1558x

I would hold out for black friday. Good chance there will be some good deals then.

Failing that, you can get one from the Good Guys Commercial site (if you have an account) for $280. That is about the best price available at the moment.

      • Thanks for in depth review, you've convinced me

      • Can you just manually apply upholstery shampoo then use a wet vac to suck it up?

        • Yes, I did this on the headlining recently and it worked well.

Also if anyone has the SmartSpending app (usually provided by their company benefits) they have 10% off SCA gift cards. Then 2% off with Cashrewards.

  • For some reason this has a smaller dirty water capacity compared to the other ones, clean water tank is 1.1L, dirty water tank is only 725ml.

    • Leaves a can sized amount behind on the rug/couch

  • Then you could get the pro version with heater for $175 from bissel

    • those ones are sold out

  • Its comes with a sample product of the detergent which is handy.
