Got it in email, not sure if this is a deal but thought to post it as it may help fellas here, if you are on insta/tiktok etc. and want to keep your Youtube handle same, be cautious and keep checking your email, before anyone else takes it.

We're writing to let you know that over the coming weeks YouTube will be introducing handles to make it easier for members of the community to find and connect with each other. Your handle will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more.

Here’s what you need to know:

We're gradually rolling out the ability to choose a handle for all channels over the coming weeks, and you will receive another email and a notification in YouTube Studio when you’re able to choose yours. In most cases, if you already have a personalized URL for your channel, we’ve reserved this for you as your handle. If you want a different handle from the one we’ve reserved, you can change it. If you don’t already have a personalized URL today, you’ll also be able to choose a handle for your channel.

Starting on November 14, 2022, if you haven’t yet selected a handle for your channel, YouTube will automatically assign you a handle, which you can change in YouTube Studio if you'd like.

      I use my term for that. e.g. get a grap.

      Grap - Verb and/or noun

      Grap - Etymology = grip & grab combined. Or grip & traction combined

      Grap - Usage = "those tyres have really good grap". - "rubber handles to grap easily and with confidence"

    What's the difference between the channel name/username and a handle?

      An '@' symbol.

      (Literally, it just seems to be that you can have an '@myname' instead of myname. And for the ones that already use a personalised channel URL, their handle is already reserved as whatever that was but with an '@' in front.)

    In all these years they still haven't developed the ability to simply change the Email of your channel without losing your channel.

    Here's a company worth roughly a trillion dollars.

      The bigger the company, the slower anything happens. To make one change, they'll have multiple meetings with multiple managers, all the managers will need to be educated, their fancy salaries & amex need to be paid for, and in the end someone might say it costs too much for a minor fix that customers may use once in a while.
