So every January, Aldi would sell a tap and die set that included all the essentials that you need as part of their specials catalogue. The problem is, there is literally no where else where you can find a tap and die set that has the things that Aldi sells in their kit anywhere else for a decent price. Aldi would sell their tap and die set for around $30, and every tap and die set that I can find goes for much more than that and none of them even include the drillbits necessary for creating a proper tapped hole. I have looked at Bunnings, Total Tools, ebay, alibaba, amazon, banggood etc. and I literally can't find any as good as the Aldi set for the price they were selling them at. I did find some sets that sell the drillbits but they go for hundreds of dollars which is ridiculous. The reason why I even know about this Aldi tap and die set is because my teacher had a kit which he used for years, and it stood up to the abuse the students would throw at it.
How does Aldi manage to make such quality tools for so cheap and why don't they sell them more often?
Where exactly can I find a tap and die set like this one, and is it possible to get this exact Aldi one?
This is the set my teacher had:

They were releasing tap and die sets every January but after 2019 it seems they stopped:

Aldi offers random products as loss leaders to get people into their stores & looking forward to upcoming catalogues etc.
It's why their stores are arranged in a way such that daily staples like milk and cheese are seemingly always at the back of the store so you have to walk through aisles of other stuff first and hopefully grab things on the way.
