Question about ETF on Mytax Lodging

Hey all, have a betashare etf that i invested in for like 2 weeks then sold- so no dividends paid out but I haven't received an annual tax statement.

Looking on their website
"https://www.betashares.com.au/investors/tax-information/"
"If your BetaShares investment has paid a distribution during the last financial year, an annual tax statement will be issued. "

Since I didn't get paid a distribution - does this mean I don't need the annual tax statement?

So I only gained like $30 with (19$ in fees) sigh.

Instead of placing in the managed funds section (which interestingly my one other ETF s&p500 inputted automatically)- should I just place the betashares etf under capital gains instead?

x thanks , lily

No distribution. No statement generally. But if you want to be sure login using your HIN and see

If you didn't receive a distribution then you have nothing to declare for investment income, but you do need to declare your capital gain. As you held the investment for less than 12 months you're not eligible for the discount treatment of capital gain, but for the amount you made it won't really be an issue.

  • As stated there's no income from distributions/dividends - so it's purely the capital gain/loss on the sale of the holdings. Which according to your post is $30 less $19.

No an annual tax statement will not be relevant or required.
