This Lenovo thinkbook 14s can be had for $900 (or $880 with eBay plus).
More RAM but only 256GB SSD, though build quality looks far better
Or get a NUC M15 with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD for $945/$924 with eBay Plus if you don’t mind 15” instead of 14”

The thinkbook quality is definitely very basic. Very plastic-y and flexible. The NUC however is a very sturdy piece of aluminium.
AFAIK the Acer Aspire is bottom of the barrel in terms of build quality. The Lenovo looks like a step up though I wouldn’t buy either around this price
