  • Good deal

  • Has anyone used the rice before and able to share if it's good quality?

    • At $2.25/kg when buying that massive 20kg bulk it better be good…

      • +2

We pay a lot more for our 20kg bag of rice. Depends how fussy you are I guess. Hard to go back after you've had nice rice.

          • @pizzaguy: I think we pay between $50 and $60 for ours. There was a shortage a little while back and I think we had to pay $35 for 10 kgs.

            • @ozbs25: Previously I would buy Taj but then there was a scandal and now I only buy Lal Qilla. I heard India Gate is good too but I do not like that the plastic packaging does not let the rice breathe or continue to age/dry.

When it comes to cheap basmati rice: They usually have at least one of the following flaws:
Smaller grains but retaining smooth texture.
Rough texture long grains that feel like eating Sunlong. (Alishaan anyone else notice?)

              • @King of NPCs: We haven't actually had good basmati rice before. I'll have to get something nice one day just to see the difference. I've had the basmati rice you can find in Colesworth but didn't like it much.

      • My thoughts exactly, don't want to be stuck with 20Kg of bad rice!

    Ghee, thats a good deal

  • During checkout i was asked how you got this bag of rice. I was told 5 other people were looking for it as it was sold out from shelve.
I see people having 2-3 bags in thier trollery. Went back and broght two more :)

    • I have brought this in past and it is fairly good quality

    • I’ve seen one person buying 10bags at Marsden Park
