Hi all just moved in to a over fifties village where the internet is provided by Opticomm, can’t get Telstra nbn so have decided to go with Leaptel as my provider.
Can I use my Telstra Smart modem gen 2 to connect and if so how do I do it.
I have instructions on how to unlock the modem

Leaptel or even Aussie Broadband. Go with whoever you feel gives better service. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work. Just plug an Ethernet cable into Wan cable and away you go….
Should work fine with any provider.
You'll need to root it for Vlan Providers…
Just a quick update for latecomers. Telstra smart modem 2,3 is no longer accessible
I just received confirmation from the Support Team that our Gen 2 and 3 modems are no longer accessible if the customer attempts to connect it to another provider and we appreciate your kind understanding to this matter. Cheers
Call Leapnet and ask them for support.
