    I bought this on the last deal, I found that the locking mechanism is great providing solid attachment to the air vent. The additional hook at the end is fantastic.
    The way that it holds the phone is via gravity/weight of the phone pushing the bracket downwards. It doesn't feel stable yet surprisingly works, I haven't had my phone fall out when going over speed humps or rough terrain.
    My only complaint would be that it rattles/vibrates on car rides when you don't put your phone in. This annoys the heck out of me and forces me to put the phone in every time.

      This is also my experience (with the CD slot version), it's actually great. I find the rattling when it's empty to be a bit annoying, but it's usually ok on decent roads.

    I had one of these, and the holder would block the camera screen. Got one that goes up (but still a cd slot holder) from Amazon

      The shiny trimmings. I have one. It's ok after a bit of fiddling with the slot to be more secure and rattle free

        thanks I bought two of these before..

        I find the clips into the aircon vent is not strong and it doesn't hold my phone in place.. the whole thing dropped a few times when I went thru small potholes accidentally.

        I have a good Speck cover on my phone so no damage (fingers crossed).

    I got one that sticks to the glass (suction cup). Holds pretty strong. No rattle. Phone is stable. Would recommend.
