Hey guys,
I'm considering options for heading into Uni and was wanting to do something in the IT or Business sector. The Bachelor of Information Technology and Business from Murdoch here in Perth seems like a good option as its both I guess. My second option was doing Commerce (Marketing or Management focus) at Curtin.
The problem is that I don't know if I should do the IT and Business course since Murdoch is the only Uni that's offering it. Not a double degree but a combined course according to them. I'm not sure if there will be employment opportunities or anything if I go down that path since it's not really a well-renowned course. I haven't met anyone who's done this course either.
Is this recommended or ideal? Will I get employment opportunities (IT manager or something) if I do this course?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
You are better off doing Bachelor of Computer Science if you want to be a IT Manager. Honestly uni doesn't matter for jobs. Murdoch is probably bottom in Perth now but I know Murdoch grads who have got roles in Atlassian (they had to study hard on the side).
An alternative course to Murdoch's is Curtin's Business Information Systems - https://www.curtin.edu.au/study/offering/course-ug-business-…
A good path to be a IT Manager is Graduate -> Tech Consultant -> Business Analyst -> IT Manager (non -technical).
