Pixel 6 Warranty Refund Possible?

Hi everyone!

I purchased a pixel 6 at the start of the year from JB HiFi and long story short it's been an absolute buggy mess. Battery not lasting more than 4 hours, bad reception and connectivity, constant app crashes and glitches, the whole 9 yards.

Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience getting a refund in a situation like this or if it's even possible/what my options are.

Thanks so much!

It will be fixed and not a refund, I used to work in the IT department at JB.

Agreed most go off to be assessed then repaired to make sure physical damage isn't involved, water damage etc

Have you asked Google or JB for help in resolving the issues?

  • I assume you've:

    a) updated to the latest OS
    b) updated all apps
    b) factory reset (last resort)

Most of the time I found weird bugs on P5 it was because of trashy apps, not OS bugs.

Yeah done all that, it's definitely a problem on the phone's end. I don't know if you've looked into the pixel 6 but basically seems like a 40% chance that you get a shitty phone.

All the issues that I mentioned above I've searched up and are 1. Common and 2. Don't even have a fix for them other than get a brand new phone.

At this point I'd rather get a refund because i can't believe a $1000 phone would have this amount of problems. I've owned google phones for 7 years but the decline in quality I've noticed recently is inexcusable.

      • Why don't you go into a JB store and explain the situation, it needs to be sent off to be inspected anyway so might as well get the ball rolling

That sucks, wish Google would take OS stuff more seriously. It's not a good enough experience.

  • I've been able to get store credit and upgraded. I had a pixel 5 a. After a few months of hating it upgraded to 5. Store was pretty chill about it given the phone had issues. Depends on store I guess

  • I purchased the 6 pro from Telstra store outright, after many reception problems Telstra finally replaced the phone and after a week the new one still had issues. After fighting with them for a bit I finally got a full refund and purchased a s22 ultra instead.
