    Hmm what are the chances of returning to JB hi-fi, probably better to sell. Do you get to keep the $300 discount if don't honour the trade in? I've sent it back but should see if I can get my pixel 5 back.

    The speaker sound quality is probably the most disappointing part and I just noticed LDAC Bluetooth codec is greyed in developer settings too. Will have to look into this as it's a good combo with the Sony xm4 headphones. Should have tested and waited for more reviews I guess.

        Yes emailed them and they've left a note to return.
        Said won't get black listed, just charged the trade in amount. Will keep for a spare or sell privately for more.

        The 7 is like a Bigger pixel 5 (but with a worse speaker) pretty good still. Just probably didn't need it. My pixel 5 was very snappy.

      Maybe go back to the store? if you purchased instore, you should have received everything on the spot, or at the very least the $100 gift card. When I purchased instore, I was given all at the same time.

      You should have got the 2 coupons (printed separate) + $100 giftcard.|

      When you then grab the Nest Hub and Chromecast and check out, they'll scan it 1 at a time so you don't have to pay anything.

    YMMV but I emailed to advise SquareTrade that due to a change in circumstances I was no longer able to trade in the device and they were able to charge me for the used phone value and did not charge for the used $300 coupon.
    The way I read their terms and conditions, they can't charge for the coupon, but I only left enough in my bank account for the phone value to be taken out and that's all that came out.

        I had used both the $300 coupon and the $200 trade in gift card.
        (Unrelated but if buying in-store, give the staff member the coupon before the gift card. My cashier did it in the wrong order and it didn't let them use the coupon once the 'part payment' of the gift card was used - worked out in the end but was a shitshow)

          Lucky, yes. Even if it was a little, can easily sell for a much better price than the trade in.

          May keep the Pixel 7 (newer CPU, bit more ram, bigger screen.. speaker is worse but nothing headphones or Bose speaker can't fix). Just not a very big upgrade, feels like a bigger pixel 5.

          Although after the discounts, bonuses and trade/sell it's costing stuff all to upgrade.

      From pre-order I really only gained the $100 gc
      I've been playing with the nest hub and it's not that great.
      The chromecast I didn't need (i like fire stick 4k more)

        Yeah the $300 off is the main thing, and great on a new phone.

        The google tv is great, have had one for ages. Helps integrate tv, soundbar power controls with one remote, 4k, Dolby Atmos (my soundbar has Atmos so plugged straight into that). Mostly a much smoother experience than the clunky built in android on my TV (plus it doesn't have atmos). Good having a streaming device anyway, so you don't have to cast from your phone. Nord VPN runs well on it. Amazon pushes too much advertising to the device apparently, clutters the home screen.

        The hub is pretty limited but alright instead of one of those small speakers, alright for free but not really necessary.

    I'm sure this has been covered off but just want to make sure because I am thinking of getting in on this deal.

    I've got a Samsung S10e. JB offering $50 trade in gift card for the phone and then a $300 coupon to use on the Pixel 7.

    Once trade in confirmed they send the gift card and coupon. I can use this to purchase the new Pixel 7 at $350 less their RRP.

    Then if I don't send in the S10e, they charge me the value of the trade in gift card ($50) only? So in effect $300 off the phone for nothing?

      They won't take the 300$ pre order code just charge your card the trade in amount ($50). It's a different payment and agreement, how would they take away $300 after you've already used that coupon after buying the phone. All a bit complicated.. should be $300 anyway but the trade signup starts the process.

      Basically send the phone back and get $50 off or don't send it and they charge $50 (but can usually sell privately for more in most cases, if you can be bothered).

        The google tv is well worth it and been using one, the hub isn't that necessary but as good as those all speakers if you're getting it cheap or free.

        None of smart home stuff is necessary if you want to look at it like that. Anyway the bundle is on eBay, haven't never successfully sold anything on here to bother with it I reckon.

      Is that the one where they fix the speakers and fingerprint scanner? It would be too expensive if it's meant to be a leading iPhone or Samsung competitor. The pixels aren't meant to be 2k flagship handsets.

      They've done an alright job of making these feel more premium with the superficial piano finish and extra weight. Both I couldn't care about though - without a case the phone is as slippery as an eel to hold and the speakers are also worse than the Pixel 5.

      The 7 is good enough though with all the discounts and bonuses etc.

      Still thinking about the trade in.. they've already deducted $220 (in my case) from the price at the checkout, if don't send phone they charge you that $220. Just checking im not twice worse off, but should be able to sell for $350-400 and be ahead.

      I put an in-store ordered on 13th noon and yet I haven’t received the vouchers. (The gift card was provided right away in the store).
      I did remember they told me that it could take up to two weeks, although lots of OZBargainers seem to start to receive the reward early.
