in itself its "fine". Flybuys does a 15%-20% transfer bonus to velocity usually 1-2 times a year. so you end up with a bit more points per cent. but as far as i see it, getting an extra $26 in value over just "spending" flybuys is a good move, especially if you're a points hoarder.
How is 1000 points worth $36?
This is based off if you were to "purchase" 1000 velocity points. Flybuys transfers at a 2-1 rate so the 2000 flybuys would be 1000 velocity.
Can you explain how it's worth $36 in velocity points? I have a heap of flybuys points which i generally use for $10 off a shop. I am not interested in flight redemptions but how else can I maximise the value of these points?
Might be worth that much if you book a business class rewards flight through virgin.
Personally for me i leave my flybuys points with auto transfer turned off and wait for a transfer bonus sale. they occur on odd occasions (usually 1-2 per year) and will grant an extra 15-20%
Could anyone confirm if it’s bonus 2000 points with every $50 spent? Or is it only once per transaction I.e if I spend $100 will I get 4000pts?
