2020 was a year of significantly reduced yield in the Barossa, specifically at Bethany. This was partly due to a hot, dry December and early- mid-January which was similar to 2019. Careful soil moisture monitoring was beneficial in allowing Bethany to manage soil moisture in the most efficient way possible. The resulting crop was very small even by recent low yield standards but critically the quality was very high with good natural acidity, excellent colour and tannin structure leading to some magnificent wines.2021 Bethany First Village GSM - Barossa Valley - 93 Point on Wine Orbit - VIVINOļ¼4.1
Review from Wine Orbit: Youthfully expressed and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark plum, spiced cherry, smoked game and roasted nut aromas on the nose, followed by a flavoursome palate offering succulent fruit flavours and plump mouthfeel. Upfront and fabulously drinkable. The palate has a strong Grenache dominance with spicy and earthy red fruits and aromatic interest holding sway, the supple darker fruits of the Shiraz add real weight and texture to the mid-palate and the finish while the Mataro brings a super lifted aromatic intensity of blue fruits and incense. Tannins are supple and generously structured and give length, age ability and freshness to the finish.2018 Red Deer Station 30 Shiraz - Langhorne Creek - Wine Showcase: 94/100 Gold Metal
Eximious wine and the beauties of nature are precious legacies for the future
An hour out of Adelaide in the historic agricultural region of Langhorne Creek, known for its generous premium red wines. Sustainable management of our vineyards with minimal intervention throughout the winemaking process produces pristine and flavourful wine focused on leaving our world in a better place. This wine is typical of the region with layers of juicy ripe red berries like cherry, and raspberry coupled with a refined oak back-bone. Round, fine-grained velvety tannins provide a good length of palate, and a delicate and smooth finish. The perfect match to your favorite barbeque fare.
