plus $9.90 post. 10 cents cheaper
Even better if you’re able to pickup in store or buying multiple.
its shit how none of this is ps5 compatible
You need to spend more for fast ps5 compatible drives. It's just how it is.
Why do you need a "compatible" m2 drive?
Isn't the whole point of sata and m2 to be a single form factor that just works? Why are they locking out certain drives? They can easily put a warning this drive only runs at xyz read/write speeds.
M.2 is just a connector, it doesn't actually say anything about the capabilities of the device connected to it.
Gen 3, are only capable of using four PCIe lanes, whereas Gen4 can use sixteen. More lanes = faster transport of data from the disk to the CPU.
Therefore, they do state that the disk is only capable of a theoretical xyz speed.
PS5 requires Gen4.
@Bedgrub: Both gen3 and gen4 NVME SSDs use four lanes - the difference is the throughput of gen4 is roughly double that of gen3, so each lane is much faster.
PCI-e gen3 tops out at 32GB/s and gen4 is 64GB/s.
Here's a good article that does a deep dive on the SoC and the various components:

This is gen3, I think you need gen4 and it needs to be a minimum speed? I need an upgrade as well.
BPC currently have the Kingston KC3000 for $159 if you're after that.
The ps5 drives need to be at least pcie gen 4 which bumps the prices up.

Gen3 vs gen4.
ps5 needs the faster gen4 ones (this model is a gen3)
How does thatv one compare with these Timetec and Kingston? Are there of the same speed or quality?
Timetec 1TB SSD NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 8Gb/s M.2 2280 3D NAND TLC 600TBW High Performance SLC Cache Read/Write Speed Up to 2,000/1,600 MB/s Internal Solid State Drive (1TB) https://amzn.asia/d/eX5qung

Review from tom's hardware below. They thought it was a fine enough ssd.

Has anyone seen any deals on SATA m.2 1TB drives?
I'm looking to upgrade an old latptop.
M.2 sata drives are fairly rare and hard to come by these days, especially in high capacities. You could get a 2tb m.2 nvme or 2tb 2.5" drive for a lower price
Yes, it is odd. You pay $160 for a slow m.2 SATA SSD 1TB and around $100 for a nvme one at 3 times the speed.
It has to do with economies of scale. Hardly anyone is buying SATA m.2. It costs more per unit to manufacture due to less being sold. We have seen Samsung drop SATA m.2 when they revised their 860 EVO with 870 EVO.
Going forward, I expect that SATA m.2 will continue to increase in price and become more difficult to find while NVMe gets cheaper and increased capacity

Probably the best way to find deals these days.
$99 + $0.60 postage with a Student Beans code (it's eligible) and you can then use discounted gift cards.
Also $104 with code SHIPITWITHPLUS for Plus members.
What is the current go too budget ssd with dram these days?
Samsung EVO 970 Plus is probably the best Gen 3 NVMe. $149 Delivered at BPC.
Can use the Samsung Migration tool to clone OS and games onto new drive
