Dining in - Online Ordering and Paying for Meals & Drinks via ApplePay / Credit Card

I've been to a few restaurants that I've encountered that allows online ordering by scanning a QR code and quote a table number (Sporting Globe, Third Wave Cafe)

I find this efficient and fuss free and I would like to know if there is a listing somewhere (couldn't find with google - unless I'm not trying hard enough!) that utilise this way of ordering.

Happy to have a shout out of restaurants if you know any that operates this way!

Yes, let's list every restaurant in Australia that takes this type of payment.

They should include on Google & Apple Maps listings maybe as “QR Code Ordering” or something.

…I find this efficient and fuss free

This is like self-service at the supermarkets.

But some have the gore to include a TIP field/page at the end. It's like, "WTF for??"

As a typical asian, I avoid them in groups because it's difficult for one person to get the bill at the end (and i don't like passing my phone around!)

Most of the restaurants that have this allow you to make multiple orders for the same table using different phones.

      • Yes, but how does that help when you have to pay at the end of the ordering? Do you pass your credit card around so that each person can enter your card details into their phone?

No, you check out individually on each phone, with orders assigned to your table number.

          • @dasher86: That goes back to my original point… How would it work for a typical asian group where one single person pays the whole bill?

Check with the QR provider and see if they have a public listing?

https://www.mryum.com/ Is one provider but no listing of restaurants that’s on their platform.

    • Yes - tried that and that one looks quite common but no restaurant listing, another I’ve come across was http://v.pisel.com.au/ with their platform. I guess the more we dine out and notice the QR codes on the tables themselves it becomes a little obvious!
