Finalmouse Starlight Pro TenZ Wireless Mouse Small $289 (RRP $349), Free Shipping or SYD Pickup @ Mwave

200

Not for everyone, pricey. Not for everyone, pricey. QC issues. QC issues.

Now that we got that out of the way. Saw this on mwave, sounds like a good deal considering scalpers are already selling them on fb, scamtree, ebay for 400 or more (edit:400 min but mostly 450).

Why deal? Below rrp, below scalper price, pretty unique and good performer (see yt reviewers). Available for purchase!

Also, posting for those who like it and want to keep them from paying above this price.

supreme mouse, fomo hypebeast. You'd best not get it out of the box.

  • Its free shipping I believe, didnt put the shipping thing on the title. Automatic maybe.

  • +13

    doubles as a carrot peeler

  • not for everyone on ozbargain

Fixed. Who buys this really? Even a competitive gamer would baulk at the price.

In before someone says "but a gold turd still can't be found any cheaper than this so it's a good deal" and "just because you aren't into Golden turds, doesn't mean it deserves a neg" 🤦

    • +7

      Who buys this really?
the same people that buy a 360Hz monitors and ask pros on twitch what their mouse sensitivity is, because they believe it's their gear/settings that's got them hardstuck in silver

I mean… the Finalmouse Ultralight 2 was my mouse of choice while competing Full-Time in a game as my job. That set me back around the same amount as this since it was also made by Finalmeme (as the gaming mouse community likes to call it).

If you don't know much about the company they are like the Supreme of gaming mice, except the annoying part is they actually make good products (apart from QC issues)

I've wanted to give their newer range of magnesium mice a try for ages now, but their drops always make it too hard. So yes this is an intriguing deal to me (someone who checks OzBargain multiple times a day and basically never buys anything not on a discount).

So yes, probably more than 99% of people on OzBargain wouldn't even think of buying this, but everyone would be incorrect. :)

      • someone who checks OzBargain multiple times a day and basically never buys anything not on a discount

I thought that's what we all do here?

The new deals page is permanently open in my tabs…

  • Man the kid in me is telling me to buy it-should I? I mean the viper pro v2 is 149 right now only and comes with none of the qc issues but damn is this a much cheaper deal than paying scalpers.

    • What are you wanting to get out of that $140 more for this

      • +1

        it looks 'cool'.

        its a finalmouse

tbh i cant think baout any other reasons

        • +1

If those are worth the $140 go for it!

          If not, dont :)

        • it looks 'cool'.

Most of the time you've got your hand on it.

          • @soso: you are right :( damn it man why am i stressing out over to buy it or not im not a good ozbargainer

      • +1

I dunno. Other hype items are so irrational like shoes (same material), trading cards(same effing ink), nft (cmon) etc etc. But for this thing its the weight (42 g), being magnesium which is unique (like the m2k which is carbon fiber), performance.

I wont post it here if its just scarcity hype.

    • Its under 300 too so easy claim haha

  • $289 and no RGB??? How dare you.

  • +1

It better guarantee hand-gasm every session at this price.

  • +1

    What is this?

    • A mouse for chefs.

  • They have them on maxgaming.

This price is a buy and use, which is ridiculous high.
But you have the backing of mawave if it fails.

    • +4

      backing of Mwave?

obviously youve never done a warranty claim with them lol

      • +5

They do. They give you "back" the contact-us page of the manufacturer to do your own claim. Lol. Mwave sucks with warranty tbh.

        • My G603 got replaced by mwave with shipping paid both ways.

  • Anyone know a good updated mouse if I wanna upgrade from an EC2 Zowie?

    • Maining the pulser v2 mini here loving it. Coming from g703 and pwnage ultra ergo

      • Where did you purchase yours from?

    • Glorious Model D/- Wireless, Pwnage Ultra Custom Ergo Wireless and the Pulsar Xlite V2 Wireless are wireless mice with a similar shapes to the EC2. Obviously more modern with wireless, lightweight design, better switches and updated sensors etc.

There's other good ergo mice to try like the Xtrfy M4 Wireless which is well reviewed. Razer just release the updated Deathadder V3 Pro which really updated the overall shape and has been well received. Although it's not in stock everywhere yet and will cost an arm and a leg.

Outside of ergo designs there's heaps of good lightweight ambi mice. Logitech G Pro is one of the most widely used in esports. But you can find lots of other options around.

      • Hey thanks for the response!

Had a good look at the Glorious, Pwnage, Pulsar and Xtrfy and they all look pretty good with almost the same shape as the EC2. Just wondering, is there any significant difference between them that would make you choose it over the others (maybe in terms of QC, build quality)?

From what I've read, there's not exactly a glaring fault for any of them (other than battery life on the Glorious Model D?) so I'm not sure exactly how to choose haha

        • Beyond just comparing the price and sizes there's not a huge difference between them all. Most use the Pixart PMW3370 or a custom variation of it. All of them are in the modern lightweight category. All use good micro switches for the main buttons. Like you mentioned you'll just have to have a look at reviews for the various options to see which one appeals to you. I haven't had a look specfically at battery life or software features for example.

There's other factors to consider like availability as well. Some of these are readily available from Australian stores while others are going to have limited Australian suppliers. Might make things like warranties complicated if you have an issue. Seems the general consensus is that the Pulsar is the darling at the moment. Personally I think the Pwnage Ergo Gen 2 at $69 from mwave is good value.

Australian reviewer Rocket Jump Ninja has some suggestions for finding mice in relation to your hand size. You might want to have a look as some of these might be slightly bigger or smaller than the EC2. Some also have mini options available that might suit your preferences more. The Xtrfy has a more unique shape and a couple of size options as well so keep that in mind.

          • @Osprey87: Thanks for the advice, I ended up getting the Pulsar - seemed like there was a lot of reviews praising it!

  • Wait this are not limited? I always thought fm Magnesium mouse are all limited quantities

    • 40k for this one

      • I'd be all over it if they have an ergo version. There are just way too many alternative for this shape

        • Agree. Even the looks department seems generic (compared to the embossed versions before).

    those holes scare me

    Why you buy this mouse

  • +1

Okay…..can someone more knowledgable explain why this mouse costs so much?

    • +1

      Magnesium

    • +1

      Speed holes

  • Let's see how quick these will be gone and straight to eBay/Gumtree/FB Marketplace/Amazon then sigh

    • +1

Haha pls dont its actually good so use it. I think the price seems ok. I mean theres steelseries, razer and damn it roccat and alienware mice that are also near 300 but not as unique nor performs close to the starlight. And dare I say Grail worthy.

  • +1

Have wanted a starlight for ages but never thought I would ever be able to get one (I refuse to pay scalper prices or even rrp), so instant buy when I saw this thanks OP!

  • This is marked as "Small", there is another one "Medium" (not on sale), I have mo idea which one fits my hand.

    • +2

      https://www.eloshapes.com/
You can compare the size here if you already have a mouse.
Tbh go with the medium, the small is way too small for anyone unless you fingertip grip your mouse.
