We’re giving COVID-19 claims savings back to you

Hi xxxxx,

We know every bit counts, so here's some good news. We’re giving COVID-19 claims savings back to members – just like we promised. All eligible members who held an active resident hospital and/or extras policy at any point between 1 January 2022 and 30 June 2022 will benefit. This means you!

What happens next?

You don’t need to do a thing. $xxx.xx will be paid into your account by 31 October 2022.

But I’ve left ahm?

No worries. The cash back is being paid into either the same account that we used to pay any claims into or the account we had registered for your direct debit while you were a member. If the payment fails, we’ll send you out a cheque to the last postal address we have on your membership.

How was my giveback amount calculated?

This giveback amount is based on the amount you paid in premiums between 1 January 2022 and 30 June 2022 and how long you were an active member with us over those dates.

Got questions? We've got answers

We’d love to have you back any time! Find out more about how we’re giving back to members.

…so this is a deal for people who were members in the past?

Not a bargain. It's in the past and other health funds are doing the same.

I'm confused how this is a deal? You don't need to register or doing anything anyways? Isn't this some like FYI more so for people who didn't get the e-mail or didn't read it? Regardless it'll probably deposited into your account anyways.

Not a deal in that non-members can't benefit, and members who are benefitting will automatically receive the refund. No action required, this is more of a PSA

  • I received this refund, but it's not a deal. It's just a partial refund of premium paid. Not available to non-members and members get it without doing a thing.

Why does this even need to be posted? Kinda pointless?

NIB are doing the same thing, didn't consider it a bargain or worthy of posting it here.

Been with AHM for about 5+ years, cashback was below $20

They also announced the are increasing rates in November ( delayed from April this year)

I'd hate to see a deal everytime a business was refunding money to you that you are rightfully entitled to …

    Dear Mr YYYYYY,
During a review of the way we calculate your premium we identified that you did not receive the full discount you were entitled to for your previous NRMA Motor Insurance policy MOT xxx abc def. We apologise for this error.

What does this mean for you?

We will provide you with a refund of $zz.zz as follows:
    Refund of premium* $xx.xx
    Interest $yy.yy

    Yours Sincerely,
    The NRMA Borg

  • Received $10. Thanks.
