Recall on Ryobi Compressor - Would I Still Get a Refund?

Ryobi is recalling a compressor that it sold in Bunnings a few years ago. I bought mine i think in 2015. It's very VERY beat up and well used.

If I don't have a receipt, would I still get a refund for full price if I take it in there? Does the condition matter?

and in the Ryobi statement it says

ACTION REQUIRED:
1. Consumers should immediately stop using the RYOBI compressor and unplug the
RYOBI compressor from mains power.
2. When possible please return the product to a Bunnings store to obtain either:
a. a replacement new version of the product (once it becomes available); or
b. a full refund of the purchase price paid for the product.

You'd likely still get the refund, yes, if yours is part of the recall

    Recall details

  • usually they have a serial number range or manufacture date range for the recall.
if your item is in that range and still working, then yes you should.

  • Based on the text, the condition doesn’t matter and a receipt is not needed for a replacement, though it, or a record of the transaction from your bank, may be required for the full refund.

Have you been to Bunnings to ask?

  • Yep, your still entitled, it could be a safety issue

  • Condition isn't relevant for recalls. You'll likely need receipt or proof of purchase to get a refund.

That's why it says "price paid", you don't get full price refund automatically.

    • Any idea regarding recalls "expiring" I had one on a Dyson vacuum that was 20 years old, they had a plastic part to fix the problem but they said the recall had expired or something like that and they couldn't send me the part.

    Ger the replacement.
    You obviously use the compressor.

And then you'll get another full warranty.
Done stress about the receipt, just ask for a new one to reply it with.

If its part of the recall then yes you'll get what they offered regardless of condition.

Is yours a Model RA-ACDDU1840? Was it made/purchased between 2 February 2015 and 2 February 2020? If so, you're in luck.

Being you don't have the receipt, you'll either get a fixed amount as set by Ryobi or be only offered a replacement unit.
