Vendors for OnlyOneVisa (Home Improvement & DIY)

I took advantage of the cheap visa cards at woolworths, but it appears only1visa has locked down what you can buy. You used to be able to buy giftcards at Shopback.

Has anyone found a work around? They have seriously limited the vendors you can buy from with this card.

I have only got it to work at Bunnings & Stratco so far

  • How many did you stock up on?

    • a fair few. Most have been spent. But I was planning to buy some home improvement stuff off ebay and amazon, which used to accept them until the change

Well. I ain't a home improvement expert. But I'm pretty certain shopback aint a improvement store. So that's probably why it don't work there. Plus. The link you provided. Has a list of stores/ store types it's valid at.

    • but you can buy gift cards to said home improvement stores

I am on the same boat with you.
I also bought a few cards during promotion, only to find out later shopback no longer accept it.
I also find nowhere but Bunnings only that accept this card.
So I have no choice but to take advantage on how Bunnings accept their gift card in order to spend it faster.
For whatever reason, if your Bunnings e-gift card balance is less than $10 after your purchase, Bunnings will return cash to you.

What I do is I purchase 1 item at a time.
Before I purchase, I go online to find out how much it costs and purchase Bunnings e-gift card online.
The $ value of the e-gift card must be the next $10 round up that is larger than the item you want to purchase.
Example 1: If you want to purchase a $0.99 bucket, you go online and get a $10 e-gc, upon payment, Bunnings will return you $9 change.
Example 2: If you want to purchase a $75 tool, you go online and get a $80 e-gc, upon payment, Bunnings will return you $5 change.
In this way, you may spend the $500 visa card faster, in 50 transactions maximum. (i.e. $10x50)

    For easier to understand:
Example 3: If you want to buy 4x$2 items, you go get 4x$10 Bunnings e-gc, pay the items one by one with Bunnings e-gc, you get 4x$8 change in cash, but you spent $40 of your visa card instead of $8.
Yes it's very inconvenient and the staff may get annoyed. But we have no choice.
I always try not to make more than 2 transactions with the same cashier. I go to a different counter, or come back 15 mins later, or go to another Bunnings.
So far I have done 20 transactions in this way. Hope it helps you. :(

This sound like just as much hassle as buying 2c worth of something at a time just to get it rounded down to nothing.
