  • Thanks OP .. purchased

  • perfect timing, I was sighting in my new 308 with a mate this afternoon and was discussing the need for a set of binoculars,

  • -1

    Been that price for ages.

    • -2

And, some people, out of sudden, realise “ oh great! I need them! I can’t live without them!”

Nevertheless, thanks to op for sharing.

      • -2

        ha, the neggers sb.

    • They aren't on special - at a guess there is a price error, the price of the 8x26 and the 10x26 have been swapped, making for a bargain.

  • What do you use this for besides helping you read the board in lecture theatres?

    • +2

I use them to spot speed cameras while driving

      • +2

i use them to play COD strap it to my bike helmet and pretend they are night vision goggles

    • Bird watching.

  • +2

They are sold out on the AU site but can be bought from the UK for $162.03 until the price error is fixed.

  • OP, thanks for sharing

  • Yes,I Ordered.But not sure where I can use it…..

    • Use it on your neighbours.

  • Aren't these really dark at 26?

    • in theory they should be. I have a nikon monocular 5 x 15mm which is awesome and should be slightly better in low light - they're no longer made. I often use this in low light (dusk and night time) and they seem to be equal to my eyes. That probably means my pupil size is 3mm or less. Your pupils get smaller as you get older :(

  • Nikon Travellite 10x25 are superb and about same price.

that must be a "price error" too. lmof

      • No that's a discount on their usual price - these aren't as good as the Vortex, have a smaller objective lens and an inferior warranty.

        • exit pupil size of 2.6mm vs 2.5mm? You wouldn't notice that.

  • Does anyone own a good pair of binocs with a decent camera built in (at least 5 mega-pixels), and some sort of standard 'steady-shot' feature (like all phones/digital cams now have)? This seems to be a bit of a gap in the market. Everything I can find is either cheap and has a virtually useless camera (1.3 mega-pixels etc.), or it is extremely expensive.

Back in stock as at 4:20pm AEDT

Odd, I tried to post a link to Amazon's listing for the Nikon Aculon 211 10x50 binos and it was unpublished. Anyway, for those interested, it's a little cheaper with much brighter lens, though three times the weight of the Vortex.

  • Interesting- perhaps worth looking at pentax papilio II?
