Is The JB Hi-Fi Trade-in + Trade-in Bonus a 'credit' or a 'discount'?

This is a weird question but hear me out.

Does the JB Hi-Fi trade-in credit and bonus act as a 'credit', i.e. a method of payment like gift cards? So the invoice still shows full price, but you pay less?

Or does it reduce the overall invoice price (like a 'discount')?

Asking for tax reasons.

  It shows what you paid after the trade in.

  The trade-in credit is a Gift Card. If there is a additional bonus for specific device (like S22 Ultra), that will be voucher code (i.e. discount)
