Flying from Syd to Mel with Jetstar, how much time before the flight time do I need to be there?
Before Covid it was 1 hour but have not experienced it post Covid.
Also anyone if Romoss 10000 power bank can be brought on board?

Or if you allow for cancellations two weeks might work.
What did Jetstar say?
Should be in the info you received.
No one can predict how busy it will be at a random date and time. Could be completely empty, could be 5 flights at the same time.
Jetstar's website suggests 2 hours if you need to check-in and bag drop. Probably a wise duration even if checked in already to be more relaxed.

Guidelines for power banks are also on their website where they redirect you to the Qantas dangerous goods page here: https://www.qantas.com/au/en/travel-info/baggage/dangerous-g…
In reality, doubt anyone will care or check really if it's in a backpack.
What time are you flying?
I remember I had a 9am flight (pre-covid) from Syd to Mel and I got there 2 hours early (7am) as the JetStar guide said. Airport was dead, checked in, and walked to the gate within 10 minutes…..
But either way, best to be there prob 1.5 hours early. Even if there's no one there, at least you have time to kill instead of rushing to your plane if things happen. Better to be early than on-time.
Your powerbank should be fine to bring onboard, I have a 20k powerbank and no one ever stopped me with it when I put it on the tray for scanning or it's in my backpack.
That was me yesterday from T2. Less than 5 minutes in security. I was surprised since it was the long weekend and school holidays. mid-August on a weekday on the other hand was 20 minutes.
Hence, two hours
I'd get there the day before, just in case.
Thanks for the replies everyone. It is a 7am flight tomorrow. Jetstar a says 2 hours which seems pretty excessive but will do as requested. I don’t have any check in baggage.
Powerbank should be fine.
If it's Jetstar it'll probably be cancelled anyway, so best probably not to show up at all
I received a similar email from Qantas, believe it is just covering for baggage handler strikes/uncertainty and school holidays.
In saying that, a flight that early with no check in baggage, no problem. Only have to allow enough time to go through security (~30m) and get to your flight (~15m) for domestic.
Power banks are the opposite to what you're thinking, they have to be brought on board and can't go in checked baggage, up to a certain capacity/limit which is above your requirements.
Don't go any more than 2 hr earlier otherwise checkin won't be open and you'll have to wait (stupid JQ - that's caught me out before.. but I did have bags to check (which you don't)) - although not sure how that would work with online checkin.
the gate closes 30mins before departure, anything before that is fine :)
2 hours.
