How to Convert Gift Card to Apple Pay Wallet?

I have read some comments in ozb saying they converted gift cards to Apple pay wallet.

  1. Can someone share the process?
  2. Also if you use several gift cards, can you combine their cash value into your single apple pay wallet?
  3. What type of gift card can you use?

Thanks.

  • Are you wanting to pay with Apple Pay with a tap in a store or using it inside apps?

Or are you just wanting to add barcodes from existing gift cards into Apple Wallet?

    • I would like to use to tap in a store.
How do you convert a TCN gift card and store it on your phone so you can use it? Thanks

  • converted gift cards to Apple pay wallet

Apple wallet is an app that holds cards (apple wallet supported) you want to store digitally and can be used later without the need of physical card.
Apple pay is payment method that uses nfc.

can you combine their cash value

Assuming its apple gift cards, yes you can redeem it to your apple account. Log in while purchasing(online) and use your apple balance at checkout but I don't think you can add apple gift card to apple wallet and use it in store

  • Sounds like you’re trying to reduce your cost of living by 10%…?

    • yes, hope to save 10% to buy ozbargains

  • Some TCN cards can be converted to digital via the TCN app/website.

    Example

  • +1

Pass2U, Barcodes, and Stocard are apps you can use to add what amounts to barcodes and numbers to your Apple Wallet app. If what you have is a barcode or series of numbers then you can enter or scan them using the apps and they'll appear in Apple Wallet.

Later on at the time of purchase you'll be scanning the screen of your phone. This is different to Apple Pay that's using the chip.
