Admittedly this is a little more of a niche deal than my usual posts -

Renpho are bringing to the market a new eye therapy product - Renpho Eye Spa Pods, designed to address dry eyes, puffiness, and fatigue with three different operation modes.

It’s a little usb-c rechargeable device that consists of two connected spoon-like pods that go over your eyes.

The pods can rotate and can be spread out or narrowed in somewhat to suit most head shapes.

At the moment they are running a 25% off pre-order sale, which brings them down to $142.99, which ends on the 9th October. Pre-orders ship around then.

I've negotiated with them for an OZBARGAIN EXCLUSIVE 40% off instead that will last for a month from today, bringing the eye spa pods down to $113.99 delivered. - Pre-orders ship around 9th October as per above.

A simple one button switch design allows to select one of three modes:

  • 3 min cooling cycle that runs at up to 20 degrees to reduce puffiness, and swelling and refreshes the eyes. The cooling mode also claims to reduce dark eye circles and appearance of fine lines.

  • 10 min heating cycle that runs at up to 39 degrees to soothe, relax and moisturize dried and tired eyes.

  • 8 min heating and cooling alternation

Update

There was a member in one of my other renpho deal posts who reported overseas transaction fee charged, it would be **strongly recommended to use a card with no transaction fee if possible. Ymmv and it seems to vary bank to bank.

  • Any idea how the cooling actually works? As in what's the cooling mechanism?

I like these kinds of gadgets but find most are things I don't end up using because they're not very good. I've got a box of these kinds of things but always seem to get suckered into the next item. This seems to be a new item so no reviews yet.

    • The metal bits of the pods heat and cool, applying it to around the eye area.

I got to play with a review model, I liked the warming mode better - but it did make my eyes a bit blurry after and it went away after a while.

My misso had no bluriness after use but also prefers the warming.

The promo lasts till well after the release so can wait it out for more reviews.

    • Heating is easy to do, but cooling requires a heat exchanger system (likely a liquid/gel based system that uses the walls of the device to transfer heat. This would explain why they claim it only lasts 3 minutes (it's likely less than this) as an internal liquid would heat up to body temp. From what I can see from related products, it technically doesn't cool at all, just attempts to exchange heat, which is somewhat misleading.

I wouldn't recommend buying something like this unless the company has a free trial or it was on amazon with easy returns

Edit: The temp for cooling would start at room temp. It's fine to say 20 degrees, but this is Australia and in summer it wouldn't be great outside AC or a fridge

      • Didn’t actually time it tbh - but that does make sense - it never even crossed my mind to literally question how it was producing a cooling effect - I was just like - woah, this is actually a pretty cool sensation. All I have to go off is whatever is on the marketing material on website.

You do raise a very valid point about free trials and although I did raise that with marketing in the initial consults I’ll raise it again with their marketing team to see what can be done about stress free returns for this item in particular due to the nature of it.

    • I'm guessing a peltier cooler.

  • Can you put these on any other body parts?

    • No point. It doesn't vibrate.

      • Ozbargain has enough massage gun posts as is imo unfortunately

It sounds nice, but then I realise I can just dampen a rag with cool/warm water and get the same effect

  • Hi Jim, are you able to nego a better discount for this Editor's choice deal? Thankss! https://au.renpho.com/products/editors-choice-bundle?pr_prod…

Should be able to as the shiatsu massager was $48 in my last buy. Let me enquire and update when I hear back.

    • hows $110 sound? Trying to do a bit better. Aiming to do it as a november option.

      • Thanks for reply Jim! I think less than $100 would be better since they are already currently running a 25% discount off the bundle $169.
