Noticed Amazon have the PS5 and Switch versions of this for $4.10 cheaper than elsewhere.
PS4 and Xbox are still $79 though, noticed this change yesterday so not sure why they still haven't updated the price for those ones yet.

Most people are unimpressed with what they've shown off for this game
There's been plenty of articles of people who played the demo with very positive things to say about it.
Yeah, I keep seeing positive impressions from those who have tried it and what we've seen after the initial IGN coverage has looked pretty promising.
Reviews have just been released.

Seems to be mostly nostalgia holding it up but the game is pretty rough, has graphical issues, pop-in, boring combat & haphazard gameplay modes mixed in. Definitely not a $75 game for me and one to wait for inevitable sale. YMMV.
Reviews seem to fairly polarised, they either love it or hate it without much middle ground. 73 metacritic isn't the worst score but a touch disappointing. Should still be a fun enough game for Sonic fans.
I've been too hyped for it now to not get it lol, have some 15% JB cards to use up so will help bring the price down a bit more.
Only reason I would pre-order would be to secure the steelbook at JB, but even that looks mediocre lol
It’s a 3D Sonic game. Of course it’s going to suck.
You mentioned this before in the other forum thread about it yeah?
I duno, I don’t play games much anymore but to me it looks pretty interesting.
Where are you seeing that most people are unimpressed?
Yep, a short demo is fun and new for people so there's that initial excitement, but the more in-depth previews pretty much all state it gets repetitive fast both in gameplay and the free roaming area that's quite sparse.
It's not that it can't be enjoyed, it's just not that fantastic overall and do expect it to come down in price pretty quick.
I'd rather play Balan Wonderworld.
ouch
I want to play this game but not for $74.90.
I will just rent it from my local Blockbuster and finish it over a weekend.
I won't pay to play a "Sonic" game for over say $50. I love Sonic, and am a huge fan, but the games have lost their way, and will maybe try it out when it's in the bargain bin.
I can't imagine anyone thinking this is actually a deal…
Thanks Op, I usually wait on Sonic games cos they don’t hold their price for very long compared to Mario games. 👍
So why are you thanking him?
For putting the effort to post.
I really have to wonder how good the switch version will be.. I could be wrong but it’s a valid concern
Probably low resolution and fps. Like all Switch games released now considering how ancient the hardware is and Nintendo's refusal to stop milking the cash cow.
'Nintendo's refusal to stop milking the cash cow.'
What would you propose a Business does? That's aim is to make money?
That's the thing, they really don't have much reason to release a 'Switch Pro' since their current hardware is still selling so well.
At the same time we don't have to be happy about it. How much longer can their continue to expect developers to support their outdated hardware? While devs try to make games for newer generation consoles they then have to optimise it for the Switch's hardware or risk missing out on a large portion of the market.
@CUD: You half answered yourself at the end.
Nintendo isn't missing out on many Multiplatform AAA titles that'd traditionally sell on their console anyway.
Im sure they'll release one soon, but unlike Sony and MS, games is Nintendo's big thing. They gotta do what's right for them. Atleast they've amalgamated the portable and home console this generation.
Yeah, Switch version targets 720p at 30fps in TV, tabletop and handheld modes (source)
I get why they're still "milking it", but jeez it lags even on the eShop page
has there actually been any good sonic games since sega?
Mania
Generations was good.
Colours is also good.
Most people are unimpressed with what they've shown off for this game and it releases a day before God of War Ragnarok…
Fully expect price to plummet quick. Not worth paying $75 for this now unless super desperate for it.
