Horrible conversion rate, $11.5 transfer fee. No thanks

Which platform do you prefer for international transactions?

      • Moneygram. Their website plays up with my Firefox tho, so I use Edge.

      • Western Union, Moneygram.

    • Fee is depending on amount & destination. Rate also, depending on timing & destination. That’s how all of them make money. Do compare before transfer. On $250 transfer, that $30 will offset the differences no matter what (I just compare for $250 AUD that Moneygram gives 143.33 GBP with 2.99 fee, Instarem gives 148.55 with 3.13 fee not even counting the bonus, both paying with debit card)

      • I always send over a few grands and would instead stick to Western Union or Moneygram rather than share my details with a less-known company.
The one-off $30 off doesn't compensate for the significantly different CC rate and 3/4 times higher fee.

        • Fair enough if u don't want to give more details, everyone has different needs/risk profile. Just saying that horrible rates/fee maybe applied in ur case but certainly doesn't apply in all cases.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Instarem is the best or if it's even better than Moneygram. None of them are the best for me, I use 3-4 different ones (e.g: Wise, OrbitRemit are not bad too) and just compare the rates / whoever has promo running, when I need to send

  • For Instarem, If pay with credit card, will it be considered as cash advance ?

    • Most likely not, but it depends on your credit card provider. I never had issue using my Macquarie cc with any of them (if they allowed card, as some wants bank transfer)
