While ever I can get equally good phones for $500, I can literally afford to have the latest updated hardware every year for the cost of owning a 2yo iPhone for the next 3 years.
And don’t try and feed that stereotypical Stockholm Syndrome Apple marketing bullshit. There is nothing out of this world that my Xiaomi Note 10 Pro doesn’t do that an iPhone 13 Pro Max does at the same size, yet it cost $450, not $2,500.

iphone 11 already 3 years old, since you want to keep the phone for 3-4 i would go for the 13 due to newer features and longer software support.

3 x 2 years = 6 = 1.5 x 4 years
with 3 times an older ( new ) iPhone, ( 1 more phone ) you get 1 additional Battery and Screen replacement.

I would compare battery health of both phones. This is the true game changer imo. Not the few upgrades between the 2 phones that you most probably won't use all.
I keep my iPhones until they run out of iOS updates. We traded in my man’s iPhone 7 and got him an iPhone 13 at the Telstra day. The iPhone 13, also, starts with 128 Gb.

for iphone 7 atm you wouldn't get much, i just check on the website.
We sold it before the latest was released and got $130 for it. A perfect one is now $95.
I just pulled the trigger on an iPhone 11 for $679 delivered by goodguys, plus should get $50 cash wallet whatever, but only 10 days to spend it.
Was supposed to be $18 delivery but they forgot to charge that.Wish there was a $1000 iPhone 13 deal again - been waiting but no dice so far!
