I bought an item yesterday at good Guys and the fella convince me to sign up for the digital wallet.
The digital wallet was only on my phone for about 2 minutes before purchasing a product. Which I paid for via gift card, but against my account.
And they didn't end up scanning a barcode of any kind.
Does anyone know if they're automatically linked or should I have scan the barcode cos I completely forgot?
"Free" $50 isn't much to sneeze at
Just took a quick look - Of all the marketing 'loyalty' promos I've seen from anyone, this 'storecash' wallet arrangement is the most ridiculously poorly explained/ needlessly convoluted system ever. Why couldnt they just keep it to the old system where they just text you the promo code and you add it in or show the staff as required (other than perhaps stopping people from giving it to friends and family, or selling the credit (like many of us did/still do with concierge credit).
also note:
*Cannot be used with TGG commercial
*Cannot be used for vouchers
IDK ymmv - for some yes it makes sense and is a deal- but I found even when they used to run the 'cashback' promos where they text you a code for store credit, the expiry was super short , aiming to fuel impulse buys. When I looked online the stuff I was after was typically available for much cheaper at other places.
(Eg Bosch dryer, standalone chest freezer, NINJA af300 etc_)
..but I wouldnt call it a 'free' $50…
