$109 feels profoundly expensive for a string of 250 RGB LEDs when there are strips of 200 on AliExpress that do bluetooth, remote, etc for around $30

    • Got any good shops on AE for lights? Thanks

This is like comparing samsung s22 ultra with some random android phone. This led is individually addressed light with easy customisations via their app.

  • Anyone know if the music dongle will work without connecting via the app each time you want to use it? Like if powered on, but not WiFi connected to phone app, will it still react to the music, perhaps in last know mode?

    Cheers

  • good deal, i paid like $200 a few months ago :/

Is 250 enough to cover a Christmas tree nicely? Overkill? Just right? Not enough?

I don't have anything for reference.

    • yup, 250 would give very good coverage of say a 2m xmas tree

    • I have the 600 light set and it is really only just enough for my tree (190cm job).

I think 250 would be good for a wreath or something small.

      • Pics? Does your tree have anything on it other than lights?

      • Yeah, I've always heard the recommendation of about 100/vertical foot. I think that's about what we have for our 6ft tree.

      • 600 is good for my 6ft tree

Never thought I'd see the day where there's a TVSN deal on ozbargain… And I ended up buying it! Cheers

  • Wish my LIFX lights had an "accurate" BPM sensor, they just seem to do whatever they like when its in music visualizer mode

    • i just played with Philips Hue / Spotify implementation yesterday, seems to be similarly random. I'm guessing it looks for a particular frequency to change lighting mode or something, not sure.

Have a look at the music integration of the HueDynamic windows application. Requires your PC to be on and playing the music, but I find it works extremely effectively.

    • I think this is just a matter of lag. You need an application that handles the music and lights as mentioned below by Jonzay. Another one I found a good while ago was called LightDJ. There's probably plenty more floating around.
