Have been looking around for a smart/health watch that has long battery life, was actually waiting for the Solar version but decided to pull the trigger on this.
Saw a lot of good reviews for the sapphire edition over the normal version.
Not as good as the frenzy deal in May but still pretty decent - second lowest price according to Camel x 3

I totally agree on this.
I had the Fenix 5 initially that I’ve loved for 3 years.
When all the new hype of smart watch came, I tried to experience the trend and cycle through HuaWei, Samsung 4, Apple 7, etc.
Huawei battery is not too bad but always had the syncing problem if you don’t allow location access all the time.
All big brand Samsung Apple watches with new functionality cannot convince me with the daily charge.
Finally when I saw this deal it feels like my world is complete again. I think for HR, sleep tracking, some casual activities and receiving notifications on the go (so I can prioritise what I need to action and what I can ignore), that’s more than enough smart watch for me.
Some might say it’s an overkill to buy a Garmin for my listed purposes but the 2-3 weeks battery life and the reliability of every features is what I value the most in these smart watches.I've got a 6s pro and I forgot my charger (stupidly) before the Sydney Half Marathon last weekend. I had 50% battery the night before… just put it into battery saver over night and back to normal for the race.. lasted easily to track metrics. Its awesome having a watch where you really don't have to worry about the battery life.
True, even my 10yo Fenix 1 is still working perfectly and built like a tank.
No sapphire no thanks
Why not?
Well, if you do a lot of sea sports a non-sapphire watch can easily get badly scuffed by the silica sand, especially if you're doing something like surfing where you risk hitting the sea bed.
Aside from that Sapphire glass is a better crystal material in general. Is it a deal breaker? Obviously for the person above yes.
Isn’t the OP the sapphire edition?
Is this the same? https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-fenix-6x-pro-smartwat…
I don't think so, the OP's one is Sapphire while Rebel sport is Corning Gorilla Glass DX
Just a Reminder; the S is the small face, Pro is normal size (47mm) and X is the large (51mm)
I've had one for just over a year upgraded from a Fenix 5. Re battery life, coming to the end of a 4 week trip to Malaysia visiting folks for first time since COVID hit. Forgot to bring the charging cable, so just turned the watch off every evening after 8pm often not needing to restart until after 10am. have run/swam with tracking for 30 or so minutes every other day…..have to manage the waistline with all the dietary indulgences……and still at 10 days remaining battery life.
Just jumping on to say that ive had my fenix 6x sapphire for 2 years now. This watch to me is like what a Casio Classic A168 is what to people back in 1991. Definitely built to last.
Ive had plenty of analog watches i cycle through before starting onto smart watches. Used a fitbit for a long time and I had switched to a samsung galaxy watch for a period (hated the 1 day battery) and also to an apple watch 7 series. I recently switched back to this watch a few weeks ago.
If youre considering a dedicated smart watch then stick with your apple, samsung watches etc. If you have health metrics you want to track a fitbit is great. But if you want a solid built watch, great battery and functionalities built for an active lifestyle, but also want some semblance of smart watch functionality this watch is great for that.
