Looks nice but is it really worth the price tag? Surely the margin is pretty slim between this and keyboards you can get delivered to your door for around $150.

    • Yeah I have a DAS S Pro keyboard I use at home, but it's too loud to use at work. Used to have the silent model for work, but it was still too loud - as I understand it these are quieter still, so should be safe for work I hope!

Apparently if you lick the keys it opens a portal to another dimension.

I'll take your brain to another dimension. Pay close attention

It all makes sense now, these keyboards are really Mi-go in disguise.

  • Got a white 87U!!! This is a really really really good price for this keyboard.
Using a Cherry 3494 keyboard at work and need an equally good one at home.

    • Cherry 3494 keyboard

Remeber these words people, it is what makes a great typist keyboard.

  • I have a Ducky Shine that cost me $150. I have never, ever been happier. Shame… if I had the funds to splurge, I would definitely pick one of these up. Mechanical gaming keyboards are the way to go

forgive me for being technologically ignorant, but what is the selling point of this keyboard?
What does it have over say a typical Microsoft desktop 600 keyboard?

    • +11

It's louder, so, everyone in same and adjoining offices will think you're a fast typist (typing important manifestos) and be worshipped as an office hero.

Much more resilient (30 million strikes vs 1 million)
      Solid construction (Metal frame(
Force required is tapered across the board (Pinky / outer fingers are weaker - these keys require less force, > less fatigue)

It's kind of a thing you have to try to see if you like - I think I type about ~30% faster on my cheapo $80 Steelseries, and it's more comfortable too. Not sure if this is worth the premium, never seen one in stores

  • No backlight :(

    • You better be touch typing with this keyboard :/

      • +3

I touch type but I love having a backlight. It allows me to find my keyboard at night when it's buried under all the shit Ozbargain has made me buy.

when i can afford a rolls royce I'll buy this keyboard

You could probably blow $1k on this kboard and get really funky with it: http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,toprekeys

    • If you're going to spend 1k on a keyboard, might aswell blow it on an optimus maximus

      • If you've got $1k you might as well do blow off your keyboard.

Tempted to buy this roll royce keyboard. But looked at my daewoo computer it doesnt seem to match well . Hahah

  • How is this better to, say, Filco Majestouch?

    • Filco's use Cherry MX mechanical switches.

This keyboard uses it's own type which are non-contact and therefore quieter, whilst still delivering the mechanical feel and and range.

      • Oh but I like the "clack clack" sounds but I can see how this is better if you need a quieter kb… thanks

I swear it looks exactly like my 90s keyboard except it was in beige

i would prefer a dynamic led keyboard.

this is what i called a rolls royce price:

  • What other metallic colours does it come in?

  • Look at these steampunk models

"The approximate range on the "standard" models seen above is about $800-1500 USD… Some of the more intricate pieces and custom designs can be a bit more"
