G'day everyone.
I'm just a little confused about 4k gaming.
My wife and I want to get this as a surprise for our son's birthday as he's just achieved something quite outstanding and we know he's actively looking for and slowly saving for a monitor as mentioned in the title.
He plays games a hell of as lot and will play multiple genres and will play everything from the latest AAA title, to classic old games.
The machine he's using is an i9, with a 3080ti and 32gb ram (I think this is partially due to his photography and some insane editing with astro photography, stacking 100's of images etc). That's about all I know of it.
I've been looking, but I'm a little foggy on the the actual 4K gaming part.
I have been looking at 4K monitors listed under 4K, but I don't think some max out at proper 4K.
I would appreciate if someone could recommend any Curved Gsync monitors that will allow him to max out his setting as much as he can. He talks of wanting a curved monitor, similar to a mate of his all the time and wants to play in 4K.
We'd like to put in $1000.00, max, but he could possibly add a couple hundred himself, but he's currently saving for his first car.
I hope this all made sense and I appreciate any advice or tips.
Have a great day!

Curved is going to be a problem, G-sync is going to cost more.
If I were stuck with just $1000 and your requirements, I'd probably pick this, it's G-sync compatible
However, my recommendation would be to avoid 4K gaming and go for 1440p.
For example this ticks many options, and ASUS TUF VG28UQL1A
And if it must be curved (which I'd suggest only is necessary for ultra wide) then this is close
