Partner used to have Pixel 4a 5G, upgraded to Samsung A73. Trying to sell 4a5g but offers we're getting really low. I was thinking to trade the phone in for 'something', I am here to get your help on that 'something' which offers good value for trade-in. Suggestions pls. Ta.

JB will take your phone for $100 (assuming perfect condition), PLUS a $350 trade in bonus on top.
FWIW a second-hand dealer like CeX can provide a good indicator of realistic market prices. E.g. for the 4a 5G in mint condition with original accessories, at present they will buy it from you for $291 cash (or $314 if you’d prefer a store voucher) and will sell for $470 (including a 24-month warranty). I’d expect these prices to fall when the Pixel 7 is released, if not earlier.
If you’ve already tested the market privately for offers between $300 and $450, just go to CeX and move on with life. I’ve found them good to deal with, very transparent pricing and no haggling. Last couple of times I tried to sell a mobile on Gumtree for a month or so was a bust, attracting only scammers and lowball offers, so I just ended up going to CeX… by which time their buy price had dropped. Next time I’ll probably just give it a go for a week at most to see if I get lucky.
Great. Many thx for the tip. Majority of offers were below 300, this should do it. Plus a couple of Google cases too worth $10, hehe.
If you're not liking what people are offering to buy it then you won't like the trade in value. It's like selling a car, you'll always get more for a private sale.
What're you hoping for with the 4a? It's two models behind the latest now, so I wouldn't expect much.
