16GB SanDisk MicroSD Card $2.61 from Amazon - Why so expensive in Australia?

Soo I was searching for MicroSD's and came across an amazing deal. It makes me think why we pay so much for these!

$2.61 (USD, + Shipping for $5.99 which can be combined upto 5 cards = $19.09)

The same thing in Australia, $45+

The question is why is it so expensive here in Australia!

  • Where did you get $5.99 shipping? (maybe within US?) My cart showed about $45 international shipping!

According to their Shipping rates page:

Our shipping rates were designed to allow for shipping some heavy items. While, the rates might seem a little high for some small items, we have lowered those small items' prices to some impossible levels. We lowered those prices so that you would feel fair after adding in the shipping charge.

Amazon only allows us to specify one shipping rate for all items, so there is no way we can charge a lower rate on the small items - it is the same rate for ALL items regardless of size or weight. This is simply the way Amazon has decided to do things. So, please do not ask us to lower the S/H fees.

But according to the price table it should be (to "Asia" region which includes us):

    per Item $6.95 plus
    per Shipment $8.99

  • I added two cards _ came to $11.50 shipping. Any suggestions for use with Samsung Galaxy SII.
    Thanks.

    • Tried again, $22.89 shipping for two for me. Which supplier are you choosing? The only one I can see for $2.61 is Digital Media Source: $2.61 + $5.95 shipping (domestic US I assume).
