I was looking at Ebay for newly popping up used (Ex-miner cards etc) RTX3090
what would be the ok price for new and used ones ?
Currently new ones are around $1650 and used I found for $1150

yeah, I am more looking for the sweet spot for the used cards
Nvidia GTC event is 10 hours from now.. https://www.twitch.tv/nvidia
Most likely Jensen Huang will be announcing the pricing and (some) performance metrics of the latest 4000 series. I'd wait and see what happens to the 3000 pricing after this announcement.
ops! totally forgot about that
Well here you go

Pretty expensive stuff.
RTX 4090 $1599 USD = Rough guess $2400 AUD. Nvidia claims this is 2 to 4 times faster than the RTX 3090
RTX 4080 $1199 US = Rough guess $1800 AUD. Also claims this is 2 to 4 times faster than RTX 3080Ti
AU MSRP is 2219 for the 4080 16GB and 2959 for the 4090, no thanks.
@Vinodra: Oof. I was way off in predictions, guess I left out the GST by mistake.
I think the signal that Huang is sending here is the RTX 3000 is a bargain by comparison. The RRP on these new cards are just out of this world expensive.
yeah it is quite bad, Arc A770 looks good isn't it ? similar to RTX3060 though, but good to have a competition
USED? depends on the age and circumstances, if it was brought day one and mined on since, much lower (600-800)
if it was brought recently and owner is panic selling to recoup before 4000 series as low as you can get him to sell for (1000 - 1200ish)
ask if they have modded the card at all, swapping thermal pads early prolongs the memory, also if they have used liquid metal then i would avoid, its just messy shit and if you tear it down later in life you may ruin if a drop of it goes awol
also if they are not willing to answer questions or walk you through what the cards been through avoid that too.
if you wait, the 4070 is supposed to beat the 3090 and should draw less power
much lower (600-800)
thanks for the pricing points, I will check for those.
I usually check sellers other items and if they are also GPUs, I assume they all are ex-mining
There were some with repadded etc.

I am after more VRAM for workstation use (currently got a 3060 with 12 GB), so looking to get an used 3090 at a cheaper price
Dont buy nvidia, research nvidia evga
essentially pricing their cards $999 USD vs selling only the chip + mem to Evga for more then $999 USD, EVGA cant compete as they still need to make the card
No option, other's don't have CUDA
With the recent announcement of RTX4090, what would be a good price to get a RTX3090 in new and used market? I was looking at ebay listings but they and that tanking at the moment, I am wondering whether holding for a too long will miss the sweet spot for the best price (as RTX4090 is also not that cheap)
I reckon give it a couple more weeks as the ETH miners offload more and more
