[VIC] Trek 100 Men's Hooded Hiking Down Padded Jacket for $67 (Was $169) in-Store @ Decathlon, Box Hill

220

Went to Decathlon Box Hill (Vic) on Saturday to check out some half price hiking packs. While there I wanted to try on the Trek 100 down jacket that I've had my eye on for a while now, to add to my growing list of hiking equipment. I was in no rush to upgrade from my Macpac Halo, but to my surprise, the navy down jacket (the one I wanted) was listed for $67. At around 60% that's an instant purchase for me. All other colours were slightly more expensive (ranging from maybe $75 to $115). Doesn't look like it's listed on their website either, so possibly a pricing error - Or just an in store special.

This jacket has very good reviews, and is considered one of the better lightweight down jackets on the market (particularly at the price).

Cheers,

That's how I measure it too

    • Plus the title at a glance with the picture, hooded, talk about double take.

    • Yeah, not too sure why the least relevant pic was used as the thumbnail lol

      • its like those prison movies where the main guy has his b*tch on the side holding him by his inside out pocket

    • I'm glad it wasn't just me

      • men have simple thoughts though….me too

Really great jacket for hiking with >800PF, RDS certified down (amazing at this price point) and sits in a real weight/warmth sweet spot. I have put many 100s of km on mine in all sorts of conditions and its still going strong as ever. Also love that at this price I can relax a little and don't need to be as precious (if it gets a snag or catches an ember its not as upsetting as it would be on an expensive alternative).

  • Hey @Polivermc how many navy were in stock?

    • +1

I reckon there was probably 10 at the time. All sizes up to XXL.

  • Did you mean to link the regular down jacket, which is $74.50 online? Or the padded one specifically, which has no online discount? https://decathlon.com.au/products/trek-100-mens-down-jacket-…

If I meant to link that one, I wouldn’t have said hooded in the title ;)

      • Good point! Glad you got the bargain on it, wish it was available to Queenslanders without having to travel interstate!

  • is the pewter colour better as it shows on the picture -5°C rating?

    • They are the exact same jacket. Both have an 800 CUIN.

    Hooded Hiking Down Padded Jacket

Can it hike up as well or is that a different model?

How do you get down from a camel?

      • Very carefully. It can be quite a distance to fall.

        • +1

No wonder they get it from a duck then.

  • I do have a Trek 500 version of the same, which isn't showing up on the website right now. I wonder what's the difference between Trek 100 vs Trek 500.

    • The higher number ones usually means they're better (e.g. more down).

    made with real duck feathers

  • Any chance of a receipt for price match?

  • Has been cheaper before.

Different jacket. That's the hoodless variety.

        Oh oops! Thanks for clarifying.

  • Good deal. I got mine a couple of years ago and it's always been so dependable for outdoor/travel trips. So packable, light, comfy, and warm too. This used to be the Trek500, if I'm not wrong, and they've downgraded it to Trek100 to make room for another superior line…

    • Correct. Interestingly, the tag inside my jacket still has it listed at the Trek 500…

yup the women's is still listed as Trek 500 https://decathlon.com.au/products/trek-500-womens-hiking-down-padded-jacket-167572?.
btw could you upload the bill. just want to have a go with CS is they will adjust the price online.

  • Just had a look today, only the blue one is on sale to this price and they only had XL size available (approx 8 left). The grey one was on sale but at 30% off only.
